  1. Think Wakefield's missing injured pack Atoni, Rodwell, Ulele, Storton, Doyle and Nikotemo plus backs out injured in Trueman, Ollie Russell and Matty Russell probably makes Warrington slight favourites. Warrington have their fair share missing and come of the back of a bruising cup semi final. The strength in depth of both squads is impressive.
  2. Wakey have put together a competitive squad , but 10 or so injuries is too much to cope with, Leeds by 30
  3. This is an excellent explanation, Dboy and others who are very quick with vitriolic abuse of Salford should have a little more empathy
  4. TRL home page reports that Bradford have terminated Kevin Appos contract . He has been charged with rape and sexual assault and bailed to appear at Magistrates court on 6th Jan . The article highlights that the charges relate to an Adult Protection Team report made in April 2024 . Appo signed a new 2 year deal with Bradford in August 2024. Is it reasonable to presume that Bradford and the players agent where unaware of the report / situation from April to August. If Bradford were made aware one would imagine fans and sponsors may have questions regarding the clubs recruitment and retention procedures.
  5. As a Wakefield fan I am embarrassed by the vitriol spouted on this thread by dboy. Trinity fans know how it feels to support a club lurching from one financial issue to another, to support a club that year after year defies the odds. I admire the tenacity of Salford. I know the many Trinity fans I speak with wish Salford well, without Matt Ellis we would not have a club. To revel in and gloat at Salford`s predicament is low and shows a total lack of sportsmanship.
  6. Not sure that a Toulouse win would be an upset, they stuffed Trinity in France and gave them a scare at Belle Vue. They must have played well to beat Bradford last week, Wakey certainly didn't play well against York, this was mostly due to an excellent performance from York. Wakefield`s 50% completion rate in the first half will have given the coaching staff cause for concern. Its a big game, I imagine the bookies may just give Toulouse a 2 or 4 point start simply to cover any home advantage.
  7. What about the £ 900,000 Covid Loan, The £ 200,000 RL loan and the £ 3.5 million loan from council for the purchase of the ground. How the pre Ellis regime thought they were going to start repaying that lot I have no idea. Dont think the club would have survived until Christmas 2023 with Ellis
  8. When Trinity have visited Odsal this season there were hoots of laughter when the crowd figure was announced as it was nonsense. One would hope that with crown figures having some significance re IMG gradings that that Bradfords obvious inability to count accurately would be investigated.
  9. No The University of Lagos or that is what it said on the certificate I purchased
  10. 2022 accounts show approx £ 400,000 trading loss, that's there for all to see. Michael Carter at one of the shareholder meetings for the people who had put in their £ 500 ( think there were 49 people ) in 2023 advised that 2023 accounts would show a bigger trading loss than 2022 accounts, so that's where I get my approx £ 1 million trading loss. I actually think that if Matt Ellis had not taken on the debt and no other major new money was coming in then the club would have been accused of trading whilst insolvent. I did hear that the talks had been taking place between the directors and the Brazilian outfit that have some sort interest in the Football Club that play out of Belle Vue. Thank goodness for Matt Ellis a Christmas miracle
  11. Would be interested to know how you believe the previous owners would have been able to continue trading, approx £ 1 million trading loss 2022/23, directors on record saying they were not putting any money in, overheads previously cut to the bone meaning zero cash in the business, loans could not be serviced and even the interest on the loans could not be serviced. No assets to sell ie players, no money to pre order kit, season ticket sales of less that 1000, no money to employ people to manage the new stand. No clients to use the new stand. No cash to the point that they were planning to use the old kitchen equipment from the Benidorm stand in the new stand. Without new investors the club was dead. You say Ellis has a bargain, he has taken on a 6 million debt, invested £ 1.4 million in this years squad, is planning major upgrades to 3 sides of the ground, is planning on financing a SL squad if we are fortunate to get in SL, looking at building a bespoke training facility. In your world this may be considered a bargain, in the real world this is a labour of love. I for one am faint and pleased that Matt Ellis has quite simply saved us from oblivion.
  12. Not sure about that, 2022 accounts showed a £ 400,000 trading loss. Michael Carter advised at a share holders meeting that 2023 accounts would show a bigger loss than 2022. £ 3 million loan to repay on purchase of ground, £ 900,000 Covid load to repay. The two major shareholders advising that they would not be putting money in. The balance sheet propped up by unsaleable assets. So basically without a major cash injection the club would not have made it to November as it would have simply run out of cash. Thank all the Gods that along came Matt Ellis as financially it seems it was a basket case on the brink of collapse
  13. In the Glover days the announced crowd figures were laughable, no way on Gods Green Earth did they represent the actual numbers in the ground. Regulars at Belle Vue would suggest 4000 in today and the crowd was given as 8000, it was a joke .
  14. Turns a profit : 2022 accounts showed a £ 400,000 loss, admittedly less than most SL clubs, 2023 accounts are likely to show a £ 750,000 loss for the 10 months that Carter and Minards were in charge ( according to info that came out in the takeover process / Cater advised during a fans meeting ) , so not turning a profit, not self sufficient and the complete opposite of stable . If Matt Elis had not shown up Trinity would have been liquidated by end of October as they had run out of cash, Carter was leaving and Minards openly stated he did not have funds. The balance sheet was propped up by unsaleable assets, stand, ground etc. People in glass houses etc etc. The idea that Wakefield pre Mat Elis was the example other clubs should follow is just utter madness.
  15. Not sure where I heard it but understand that only Leeds and Catalans .
