To be fair, if he goes flat out he still wasn't getting there. But yes, you want to see effort. The Hurrell equation has always been do you get more than you lose... probably more than any other player as his strengths and weaknesses are so obvious.

Anyway, after two posts on decisions, I should say it is a very good game. Really enjoyable.

I certainly agree that one preference is being catered to. I could find the live scores one of a hundred different ways. As for why Sky show the live scores. There are a few possible reasons. 1. They believe that it is better for their business to show them. They have come to a conclusion and it is the right one. 2. They have come to a conclusion and it is the wrong one. 3. They don't care either way. 4. Nobody senior enough has looked at it and made a decision to not do what the producers think is what the fans want to see. In my experience, it is almost always number 4. There is an assumed way of doing things and nobody really changes anything until they are told to... and I don't think Rugby League is high enough to be on the radar.

It was. At the end of the season, I wonder if Young will have more assists for Manu tries than Manu will have for Young tries. Manu is a very good player but not for his winger, he either doesn't have the skill set to execute a 2 on 1 or doesn't care to.

I have a different attitude as I like to know the scores of matches as they are being played and then I choose the best match to watch first after the live match I have seen. But then, I have never really needed to watch delayed matches 'as live'. I watch all the NRL games every week - some live and some later, but I am comfortable knowing the score of the matches I watch on delay, I just enjoy the game play. But as always, these are personal preferences and I can see why people would want to watch a game as live.

The BBC say that the Asiata deal "to begin during the 2025 Super League season." That's a really weird sentence, surely he has been signed for the start of the 2025 campaign. This represents something of a problem for the RFL. They are seeing a reduction in head contact in tackles this year (something they need to show as they are in the middle of a law suit around protective care). That's the good news. But they are also committed to introducing laws next year that will drastically change the game while not enforcing those laws at the community level this year.
