Featherstone - trouble at mill?

Decided to follow the other 'Rovers' for the season and looks like I've jinxed them already -

Meh........Needs some ACDC blasting and big hits Love this Fox one..... -
So like FEV I would assume FAX now have to find new owners that the RFL are happy with to regain membership and rejoin the league? The current FAX board will be banned from any involvement in the same way as what happened at Fev and Salford? I think Fev were given a deadline of September to be sorted for next season so may be the same for Halifax.
-
Without Fev I'll decided to support Hull KR.........they seem to wind everyone up in a similar way to what Fev did. Only a TV fan though...can't be bothered driving all the way over there. I'll be concentrating most of my attention on the NRL.

I'm sure over a century later we can figure out a way of not having full time and part time sides competing in the same league.
-
Personally I'd have 2 separate competitions A fully professional Super league with minimum standards and a SEPARATE Semi Pro Championship In the championship you aren't allowed to be full time If a club falls out of full time super league for whatever reason you'd have to apply to join the semi pro competition and run as a semi pro organisation (if you wanted to). That way the Championship isn't devalued by full time clubs hammering sides.......You would be competing to be the best SEMI PRO club. I think there's a pride in that fans would buy into. It would take away the stigma of P&R and be easier to understand for new and current fans of both competitions. If organised correctly and the Super League clubs are actually 'Super' then the Semi Pro Championship could be a more affordable option for people. (Last season I think I could have got a Leeds Rhinos Membership for the same price as a Fev one.)
-
I'd say Fax have a larger fan base than Huddersfield and Fev are similar to fax. It's hard to judge because crowds fluctuate depending on form, opposition and the state of the comp.
-
I never got the impression that Fax were overspending or making a major push for Super League like Fev clearly did? Maybe I'm wrong? It's just extremely difficult to run a semi pro club with any sort of aspiration outside the Super League bubble. There's just no money in the comp. As some have suggested a second tier of clubs with very small budgets that know their place and have no ambition along with feeder clubs will result in a comp with significantly lower crowds than it has now...........maybe super league fans would want to pay similar prices (Championship tickets aren't much cheaper than Super League) to see their reserves play for their feeder clubs but I certainly wouldn't want to watch Fev if they we're effectively a super league feeder club. If Fev and Fax are lost that's probably the 2 largest fan bases outside super league. Despite Super League "Growing" the game as a whole is contracting in the UK. If Super League/RFL want a second tier whatever format they need to invest more (money/strategy/resources) in it or it will die.

Off-field Issues: Winding-up petition/Chairman/CEO/finances

I think he means he has no desire to be involved in the running of the club.........I'm sure he's bothered about whatever money he has tied up in the club as a shareholder and got involved in the takeover to try and protect that. I'd imagine MC probably wants someone else with plenty of money to take the club on now and buy him out. Seems pretty clear RFL won't have Paddy, MC or any of the previous board anywhere near a new Featherstone Rovers. -

Would you rather the clubhouse, shop and stadium close? The staff lose their jobs and it all be locked up for the season? -

So like him or loathe him Mark Campbell is definitely out and has laid most of the blame on Paddy. I'm sure we'll now get a contrasting story from Paddy. Featherstone Rovers have a massive fan base for this level.......and probably have a much larger lapsed target market ready to flood back when the good times return. We are easily one of the largest clubs outside Super League. Is it too much to ask to bring in competent owners to take us forward. I don't care about who did what anymore.........hopefully some positive news soon because if the RFL let Featherstone disappear then they really are even more incompetent than I ever thought possible. -
To be fair their Vegas shirt is the same as their home kit with a Vegas badge on it - you'd think most fans will buy one or the other, it's not a different kit like Leeds have done.

My best and worst for the year as follows NRL BEST - Special mentions for Roosters home and away which are also great. Lots of nice classic looking designs in the NRL as usual. NRL WORST - bit to jazzy for me and an awful main sponsor. As for Super League it's slim pickings this year...I'd have to say may favourite kit is probably the Giants Away. Not sure I'd wear it but it's a nice clean design. Worst Super League kit goes to Wigan away - bog standard training t shirt vibes ( at least Leigh are trying ) There's a lot of ugly super league kits this year especially away ones.

With Chris Hamilton stepping down....you'd assume those who appointed him have also gone...(probably due to the RFL telling them they won't get another license.) Therefore we need brand new owners/investors to come in that the RFL and the administrator are happy with before September? So any money we pay into the club via the shop or Clubhouse is going to what? Keeping the Shop and clubhouse going? Paying the staff that still work there? If Hamilton has gone who's putting out the Facebook posts from the Club (Rovers 2026)? -
It's an improvement on last years away kit (too white - weird sponsor box) and as always I'm loving the fact that Sydney kits are always the same colours and have a consistent style. They will probably have a 3rd kit with hoops. (rather than it being neon green with paint splashes all over it!!!)
