Salford Red Devils owner Marwan Koukash has lauded the influence of Tim Sheens at the club.
Former Australia head coach Sheens was appointed director of rugby earlier this year and has taken over recruitment amongst several other things since his arrival, with Robert Lui recently saying his presence was a big factor in him joining Salford.
And Koukash, who frequently refers to Sheens as ‘the boss’, has been thrilled by his impact at the club.

“Tim is my best recruit,” said Koukash
“He’s the best thing to happen to Salford and he’s a good mate. I call him the boss because he makes the decisions.
“We’ve assembled a great team with the leadership of Ian and Tim and I’m delighted with that.”
Koukash also revealed that the club is still looking at utilising the marquee player rule.
“I’ve made it clear to him (Tim) that we’ve tried for a marquee player, and when it becomes available we’ve the funds in place to bring them to the club, but we just don’t want to bring someone in for the sake of it.”
