Salford secure kit deal with Derek Beaumont’s company

SALFORD have announced their first major partnership, securing an apparel deal with Debeau Performance.

The sportswear brand was launched last year by Leigh Leopards owner Derek Beaumont, who was an advisor to the successful consortium, led by Mason Caton-Brown, which has formed the new Salford club.

Debeau will provide Salford’s playing and training kit, following similar deals with both Leigh and Widnes Vikings.

“It’s a pleasure to welcome Debeau Performance as our official apparel partner,” said Salford chief executive Ryan Brierley.

“Not only do I have a personal relationship with Derek Beaumont (Brierley is a former Leigh player), but it feels fitting that both Salford RLFC and Debeau Performance are in the infancy of their respective journeys.

“Both parties recognise the huge potential of what can be achieved.”

The short countdown to Salford’s first game as a reformed club is beginning in earnest with squad announcements imminent.

Brierley has been leading efforts to get the side ready for the Championship season both on and off the field.

A two-year agreement has been reached for Salford to play at the CorpAcq (formerly Salford Community) Stadium, which will host Oldham on Friday week (January 16), and season tickets are now on sale.

And the club are confident they will have a side ready to play that first game, with player announcements set to be made from Monday alongside naming the new head coach, reported to be Mike Grady, former coach of the Red Devils women’s team.

Although it has been confirmed they will receive no points deduction, they face the twin challenge of having the toughest graded fixture list in the Championship while receiving no central funding.
