WIDNES VIKINGS have taken Warrington Wolves halfback Leon Hayes on loan ahead of Sunday’s 1895 Cup first-round clash at Dewsbury Rams.
The 22-year-old, who has made 13 appearances for the Super League club, has already had a stint at Salford this month, landing the late field-goal which sealed last Sunday’s 29-18 home win over Batley.
“Leon has a very good running game and a really strong kicking game. He fits how we want to play,” said coach Allan Coleman.
“Unless Warrington need him, we’ve got him for a period of time.”
