Castleford Tigers boss Ryan Carr explains early Jack Brown move

JACK BROWN is “really hungry” after making the switch to Castleford Tigers, according to head coach Ryan Carr.

Brown, who played for Hull KR in their 40-10 demolition by Wigan Warriors in the Challenge Cup Final last Saturday, has penned a deal with the Tigers until the end of the 2028 season.

The 25-year-old could make his debut against Leigh Leopards on Friday, with Carr explaining the early move after Brown was set to make the move to the OneBore Stadium from 2027.

“With intra-club contracts and clubs signing players for next year, other clubs are looking to bring players in so it’s all moving parts with rosters,” Carr said.

“Sometimes players go early when clubs want to bring in new players as they have to make room.

“Jack has great experience for a young forward. He has played a lot of rugby league and he’s been in really good and winning systems.

“He’s really hungry to get a chance. He only joined the group Tuesday after playing at Wembley on the weekend.

“He could play but things take time to learn. You’re trying to create new habits.”
