Jason Qareqare future latest as Ryan Carr addresses Brett Delaney exit

RYAN CARR has explained he remains ‘hopeful’ that Jason Qareqare will sign a new deal with Castleford Tigers.

The Fijian international has scored nine tries 14 appearances so far during the 2026 season, but he is out of contract at the end of the campaign.

Qareqare has been linked with a move to York Knights, but Carr continues to remain positive that the 22-year-old will pen a new deal at The Jungle.

“Not as yet (a deal signed), we are hopeful,” Carr said.

“He knows that he is someone we want to be a big part of our future.

“We are in the process of working through that at the moment and hopefully we will have movement in that.”

There has been a great deal of change during the cup break

“What happens at our club, I want to keep that stuff between those involved. It’s our business, to put it bluntly.

“We’ve got a lot of staff here on board. We’ve got a great core of people who want to help and want the team to succeed.”
