RYAN CARR cut an abject figure after Castleford Tigers’ dismal 52-14 loss to Wakefield Trinity.
The Tigers, even with a man advantage for almost an hour, could not live with the power and pace of their opponents, who scored six second-half tries.
Head coach Carr said: “I’m struggling (to explain it). You can’t play like we did in the first 30 minutes, with the right attitude and playing really well, and then play the complete opposite in the last 50 minutes.
“It’s not like we came here without the right mindset. We ticked all the right boxes in the first 30 so to go into a lead and then concede that many points, I need to have a look at it.
“I don’t know what went wrong after the red card. Everything we came here to do we did well early on. We completed our sets and played some nice footy.
“We had 35 percent of the ball after that.
“When we get some adversity as a group we aren’t handling that well and I need to look into that.
“It’s hard to put your finger on it whether it’s mentality or personnel.”
Carr confirmed Ashton Golding tore his hamstring during the game, and that Semi Valemei did likewise in the 36-34 win over Leeds Rhinos last Sunday.
Meanwhile, George Lawler had his groin injected the last two weeks and was left out by Carr for the defeat at Trinity.
