TYLER DUPREE believes there is “no better man for the job” at Castleford Tigers than Paul Rowley.
Ex-St Helens coach Rowley was appointed on a three-year deal earlier this month, with Dupree and Rowley previously working together at Salford Red Devils.
It was at Salford where Dupree, plucked from Championship side Widnes Vikings, earned his sole England cap before the prop forward enjoyed a fruitful spell at Wigan Warriors, winning two Super League Grand Finals, a Challenge Cup and a World Club Challenge.
The 26-year-old joined Castleford midway through last season and went on to play 17 times for the Tigers as they finished second bottom.
Ryan Carr’s dismissal in August left Castleford needing a new boss, and Rowley has been duly appointed – something which Dupree is happy about.
“I don’t think there’s a better man for the job,” Dupree said. “Rowls was my first full-time Super League coach, so it’s nice to work with him again. I enjoy how he plays, I enjoy his coaching methods, and I’m really excited.
“He’s very free-flowing, and he just wants the lads to express themselves, so it’ll be an exciting form of rugby. He’s straight to the point, he’s a good guy, and I know that he loves rugby and wants everyone to do well around him.”
Dupree has also called for Castleford fans to stick with the side in 2027 following a difficult 2026, saying: “There are a lot of new parts coming in
“There are a lot of changes, and a lot of changes that probably did need to happen such as bringing in experienced coaches and experienced players in Damien Cook and so on.
“It’s been disappointing, not only for us, but for the fans as well. We sort of owe it to the fans now to repay back the faith that they had in us in what was a tough year, and a year that we are going to look back on pretty negatively.
“There are good times coming and it’s a new era for us.”
