JACK ORMONDROYD will miss the remainder of the season through injury, Bradford Bulls boss Kurt Haggerty has revealed.
Ormondroyd left the field early during Bradford’s 42-12 loss to Leeds Rhinos last Sunday.
Jayden Nikorima and Phoenix Steinwede also came off during that game but are expected to make quicker recoveries, with the latter named in Bradford’s squad for their trip to Hull KR on Friday.
“We’ve lost Jack Ormondroyd for the season, he hurt his ankle during the game,” Haggerty said.
“Jayden Nikorima has injured his shoulder blade. He’s not as bad as what he first thought.
“He could be available for Warrington (the following Saturday, August 8) but he has aggravated a previous injury.
“Phoenix is okay and will go again this week, and Jamie Gill is back in contention (following a knee injury).”
As well as having Thomas Doyle on loan from Wakefield Trinity, Haggerty will name debutant Alfie Leake at Hull KR.
“It was a special moment telling him,” said the coach. “We did it in a team meeting and we celebrated it as a team this morning.
“That’s why I’ve stayed away from the loan market – to have those moments with one of our own is so important.”
