CHRIS CHESTER has confirmed that the three St George Illawarra Dragons players that have signed for Castleford Tigers from 2027 are still on their way to the OneBore Stadium for next season.
Damien Cook, Tyrell Sloan (above) and Mat Feagai have all signed multi-year deals with Castleford.
The trio were undoubtedly lured to Castleford by head coach Ryan Carr, who was not in the dugout for the Tigers’ dreadful loss last Friday to Hull KR, given all worked under him as an assistant at the Dragons.
Despite Carr’s likely exit from the Tigers, the three St George players have all reiterated their commitment to the club, according to Chester.
He said: “I’ve spoken to Damien and Tyrell and I’ve spoke to Mat Feagai’s agent.
“We’ve had some really positive discussions with those guys, they’ve signed for Castleford Tigers and they’re looking forward to coming over here in November for the start of pre-season.
“I know there’s been a lot of disruption and the part Ryan played in bringing those guys over, but they’ve signed a contract with Castleford. We’re really looking forward to seeing those guys in pre-season.”
