CASTLEFORD TIGERS signing Alfie Johnson has confirmed that he has undergone reconstruction of a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his knee.
Johnson, whose move to Castleford was confirmed back in July, signed on a two-year deal from Championship side Halifax Panthers.
For the Panthers, the 25-year-old registered 17 tries in 23 appearances over the course of two seasons, but a nine-month rehab and recovery is expected for the winger or centre.
Posting on Instagram, Johnson shared a photo of himself in a hospital bed, captioned: “This one hurts… ACL reconstruction complete.
“Just another step on the journey, see you in a little while.”
