WARRINGTON WOLVES coach Sam Burgess has revealed that he would be interested in signing Jacob Gagai.
The 30-year-old centre is out of contract at the end of the season with Huddersfield Giants, and Burgess admitted he is fan of Gagai after watching him first-hand in Sunday’s 34-24 win over the West Yorkshire side.
Asked about Gagai, who scored a late try, Burgess said: “He went okay, didn’t he?
“He is a great player, so yeah we would be interested in him.”
Warrington, who are losing experienced centre Toby King to London Broncos at the end of the season, are not thought to be the only team interested in signing the former South Sydney Rabbitohs player.
When asked about Gagai’s future, Huddersfield coach Jim Lenihan said: “I am not really sure at this point in time.
“We are still working through all that sort of stuff. We want to make sure the right people are coming in, and there might be some blokes that will leave. We have got to deal with that.”
