NEWCASTLE THUNDER have brought centre Evan Lawther and prop Tobias Gibson back to the club as part of a triple raid on Workington Town.
Both left for Workington at the end of the 2025 season, 23-year-old Lawther playing 18 times, and scoring five tries, for Town and Gibson, 21, making four appearances before turning out once on loan to Keighley.
Lawther, who studied at Newcastle’s Northumbria University, has had two previous spells at Thunder while Gibson spent time in the development systems of both Leeds and Bradford before first joining the north-east side in 2024.
Outside back Oscar Doran has also made the move from Workington, for whom he featured nine times last season after seeing his first year at the club decimated by injury.
The 22-year-old, who has also played 17 times for Whitehaven and spent time with rugby union’s Newcastle Falcons in 2023, has studied in the north east for the last three years.
