TYLER DUPREE has called on Castleford Tigers supporters to stick with the players following a difficult 2026 campaign.
The Tigers finished second bottom on the Super League ladder with just eight wins from 27 games, with some results such as a 72-6 hammering away at Warrington Wolves going down like a lead balloon with supporters.
Ryan Carr was dismissed in August with former Salford Red Devils and St Helens coach Paul Rowley being appointed on a three-year deal.
Dupree, 26, joined Castleford midway through last season and went on to play 17 times for the Tigers.
At times, the relationship between fans and the team seemed fractured, but Dupree believes that 2027 will be a lot better for the club in all aspects.
He said: “There are a lot of new parts coming in.
“There are a lot of changes, and a lot of changes that probably did need to happen, such as bringing in experienced coaches and experienced players in Damien Cook and so on.
“It’s been disappointing, not only for us, but for the fans as well. We owe it to the fans now to repay back the faith that they had in us in what was a tough year, and a year that we are going to look back on pretty negatively.
“There are good times coming and it’s a new era for us.”
