YORK KNIGHTS have brought Andy Djeukessi back into a full-time environment after signing the winger on a one-year deal from Newcastle Thunder.
The 23-year-old joins fellow youngsters Harvey Reynolds, Myles Harrison and Joe Law in making the move from Thunder to their partner club for 2027.
A product of Castleford Tigers’ academy, Djeukessi made his top-flight debut for the Tigers against St Helens in 2025, before being given his first taste of regular game time in a prolific five-match loan spell with Workington Town in League One.
But it was at Newcastle, whom he joined ahead of the 2026 season, where he made his mark.
A return of 21 tries in 23 appearances for the North East club earned him a second Super League appearance for York in August’s memorable win over Saints.
“It means a lot to sign on this year,” Djeukessi said of his deal with the Knights.
“I’m excited to do my part and build on what was a historic year for the club.”
Head coach Mark Applegarth believes the club have signed a player with stacks of potential, adding: “He got a taste of Super League last year and I’m keen to let him build on that.
“Obviously he’s still young and raw and he’s got plenty of developing in him, but his athletic potential is really good.
“He’s got some really good attributes that suit top level rugby league.
“I’m looking forward to working with him again.”
