Ade Gardner extends Rovers loan

Former Great Britain winger Ade Gardner will remain on loan at Hull Kingston Rovers for the rest of the season, it was announced today.

The 30-year-old, who is in Super League’s top-10 try scorers list, joined the Robins on a four-week loan last month and has impressed Rovers coach Craig Sandercock during his stay. With the wealth of outside back talent currently at St Helens coach Nathan Brown’s disposal, Gardner would struggle to force his way into the first team, so the deal works for both parties.

“We’re pleased that Ade has got valuable game time at Hull KR,” Saints CEO Mike Rush said.

“As stated previously, it’s clear Ade needs to be playing week in week out and remaining on loan to Hull KR will enable him to do that. We wish him all the best for the rest of the season and we’d like to thank Mike Smith and everyone at the Robins for making this happen.”
