BRAD ARTHUR has explained that it was “pretty easy” to stay on at Leeds Rhinos after penning a new two-year deal at AMT Headingley.
Since his appointment as head coach in July 2024, Arthur has only ever signed one-year deals, the latest on a rolling basis last August.
But the Australian will be with Leeds in 2027 and 2028 after a new contract was announced last Friday.
“From a club perspective, it was pretty easy to make a decision because I’ve really enjoyed my time here,” Arthur said.
“I’m grateful for the opportunity the club has given me and the club is in good hands.
“The players have bought in and are working hard. I can see progress and they want to get better and that certainly influenced the decision.
“It was just a bit of clarity for myself and the family. It’s been hard for planning purposes and I’ve got property in Australia.
“We can be clearer on what we are doing now. My wife is happy.”
Arthur said he was enjoying the different rugby league lifestyle in England compared to Australia.
He added: “The media side of things is focused on footy, it’s nothing personal. A lot of your lifestyle in Australia is part of what gets reported.
“The pressure is not as much and I’ve probably learnt to get a better balance in my life.”
Leeds play away at Toulouse Olympique on Friday.
