BRADFORD BULLS have been a huge double injury blow, with Waqa Blake and new signing Phoenix Steinwede set for three months on the sidelines.
Both men left the field early in the Bulls’ defeat to Leeds Rhinos on Good Friday, and now Bulls boss Kurt Haggerty has given the damning prognosis on both men.
“Waqa will be out another 12 weeks, he has done his knee,” Haggerty said.
“It’s a pretty big blow, he was probably one of the form centres before the injury so we are really disappointed.
“Phoenix is a syndesmosis so another one you’re probably talking about 12 weeks.
“He has just had surgery so it’s a serious one.
“I’ve spoken to Phoenix numerous times about his welfare and the kid is in a pretty tough place at the moment.
“We’ve got a good support network around him, he is a great kid.”
Haggerty also gave an update on Ryan Sutton, Luke Hooley and Jayden Nikorima.
“Ryan Sutton is in a little bit of pain, we will take him right up until the game – he is struggling with his quad.
“We are a little bit shot to pieces but we have got fit bodies and some that could come back in like Ebon Scurr and Dan Russell.
“Luke Hooley is about four to six weeks away and Jayden Nikorima is about a month away.
“It’s highly unlikely that we will be able to name 21 players in our squad, but I am trying to stay away from loan conversations.”
