Bulls injuries not as severe as first thought

Bradford Bulls coach Francis Cummins has confirmed that injured front-rowers Matt Diskin and Adam Sidlow are likely to return to first-team action within four weeks.

The duo were helped from the field inside the first 30 minutes against Hull KR on Sunday and Cummins claimed his backroom staff expected much longer lay-offs. Sidlow, who was initially thought to have broken his leg, has ruptured ankle ligaments, while Diskin has torn a calf muscle.

“This is great news for us, given the initial prognosis,” said Cummins.

“Both injuries are as good as they could possibly be, I guess, meaning we should have Matt and Adam back fit fairly soon. These sorts of injuries are often hard to judge, but I am confident of speedy returns for them as they are in great shape otherwise.

“They are in the brilliant hands of our medical team and I wish them well in their respective recoveries.”
