Rob Burrow has confirmed he is to undergo surgery on his collarbone after breaking it in Leeds’ Challenge Cup win against St Helens last Saturday.
Going under the knife will mean a 12-week stint on the sidelines for the Rhinos legend, who made his 400th appearance for the club a fortnight ago.
“I am having an op this week [and will be out for] 12 weeks,” he told the Yorkshire Post, before conceding that injuries are simply “part and parcel of Rugby League”.
“I shot up on the short side to make a tackle,” he added.
“I wanted to get up and get him [Saints’ ball carrier] early. I went quite low on him and I think I just hit him on the kneecap. It is one of those things.”
Coach Brian McDermott has both first-team hookers out injured long-term. How do you think he will get around it?
