CASTLEFORD TIGERS have sent marquee winger Mikaele Ravalawa on a month’s loan to Championship side Doncaster.
Ravalawa had come back into the side in recent weeks following injuries to the Tigers’ backline, enjoying try-scoring exploits against Leigh Leopards and Leeds Rhinos.
However, the former St George Illawarra powerhouse has been linked with an exit from The Jungle at the end of the 2026 Super League season, despite being under contract.
In his first season as a Super League player, Ravalawa has missed plenty of action through injury and selection, with Castleford hopeful he will find ‘much needed game time’ with the Dons.
The Fijian international could debut against Oldham this weekend, with head coach Richard Horne excited to see what he can bring to his play-off chasing squad.
“He’s a player who brings strength, pace, and real physicality every time he takes the field,” said Horne.
“He never shies away from the tough carries or big defensive moments. We believe he’ll make a huge impact for us and become a real fan favourite.
“We’re excited to see what he can achieve in a Doncaster shirt and can’t wait to get him integrated into the squad.”
Previously, Castleford boss Ryan Carr had backed the hulking winger to improve.
“Consistency helps anyone and he missed a big chunk of the middle part of the season,” he explained.
“He has played the last couple of games and I’ve seen some really good glimpses and we know he needs to improve on things.
“He is working really hard and he’s doing his best to bridge the gap between his best and worst moments.”
