HARRY ROBERTSON is in contention to retain Super League’s Young Player of the Year award – but faces stiff competition from a pair of up-and-coming halfbacks.

The 20-year-old enjoyed an excellent breakthrough season in 2025 for St Helens and has continued that this term.

He’s scored eight tries in 25 Super League matches – either at centre or stand-off – despite his team missing out on the play-offs.

Joining him on the three-man shortlist are Wigan Warriors’ Jack Farrimond and Warrington Wolves’ Ewan Irwin.

Farrimond, also 20, has registered five tries and 11 assists in 14 league games, while most notably earning the Lance Todd Trophy for his two-try performance in Wigan’s Challenge Cup Final win over Hull KR.

Irwin, meanwhile, is just 18 but has established himself as first-choice at Warrington, playing 17 times so far in Super League and scoring 142 points with five tries and 61 goals.

The winner will be revealed at the Rugby League Awards on Tuesday (September 29).
