Craig Bellamy refutes resignation claims

Melbourne Storm head coach Craig Bellamy has claimed he never offered his resignation at the club, after reports claimed he had considered quitting the club in the wake of the ban handed out to Jordan McLean.

McLean was issued with a seven-game ban for his role in the tackle that left Newcastle Knights forward Alex McKinnon seriously injured, with reports in Australia suggesting Bellamy offered his resignation, before withdrawing it a day later.

However, he has refuted those claims, stating although the situation had got to him, he never officially offered a resignation note.

“That was a difficult time for everyone… at the time I thought Jordan was a little bit hard done by,” said Bellamy.
“A couple of other things added up there. I certainly never ever really had a resignation.”
“It got to me for a couple of days and that’s about as far as it went.”
