DAEJARN ASI and Tom Weaver are set to be the next players to leave Castleford Tigers, Total Rugby League understands.
Whilst Asi is out of contract at the end of the 2026 season, Weaver still has a year left to run on his Castleford deal having only joined ahead of this campaign.
Both men have struggled for form during the current campaign and are set to exit the OneBore Stadium as part of head coach Ryan Carr’s culling of his Tigers squad going into 2027.
New Zealand-born Samoa international Asi has made 47 appearances for Castleford since joining ahead of the 2025 campaign, whilst Australian Weaver has played 19 times.
Carr’s rebuild of the Tigers is still taking shape, with Mat Feagai and Damien Cook confirmed signings from St George Illawarra Dragons and Tyrell Sloan set to follow.
Leigh Leopards pair Robbie Mulhern and Ben McNamara are also expected to join alongside Wakefield Trinity’s Mason Lino.
Sunday’s 48-6 defeat to Wakefield at Magic Weekend was an eleventh in 17 matches, leaving Castleford eight points shy of the play-offs.
After that match, the Tigers confirmed the immediate exit of another overseas man in Australian back Zac Cini.
