BRADFORD BULLS coach Kurt Haggerty has said Mitch Souter still has a place at the club, and in Super League, despite having recently been sent to Dewsbury Rams on loan.
The 25-year-old Australian has made nine league appearances for the Bulls this season, but has not featured since the defeat to Warrington in May.
With the hooker looking for some game time, he joined the Rams on a month’s loan deal and featured in the 42-30 defeat to Sheffield last weekend, but Haggerty is confident he will return to Odsal better for his time in the Championship.
“Of course he can come back and be a Super League player again,” said Haggerty.
“But he just needs to play rugby and he needs to play at the highest level that he can.
“Unfortunately for him, he’s got a very good hooker in front of him in Andy Ackers, but I know Mitch will go and attack this move with the right attitude.
“He’s been first class in training and he’s just ready to play.”
Haggerty has also offered a further update on Will Gardiner after he suffered a serious head knock against St Helens just over a week ago.
While Gardiner returned home last week to recover, he will require further monitoring.
“The feedback I got was that he had a bit of a bleed from the ear too, so there were a lot of concerning moments,” said Haggerty.
“He has to go back for another CT scan as they’ve found a slight bleed on the brain, but that could have been something from birth.
“It’s maybe not too concerning and something that maybe [already] happened to him. I don’t know the detail of it, but it’s not as severe as it sounds.”
