DARYL POWELL believes Wakefield Trinity’s clash against Leeds Rhinos tomorrow night will be a ‘great marker’ of where the club is at.
A win for Wakefield would see them go level on points with Leeds, whilst a defeat would see the Rhinos open up a four-point gap at the Super League summit.
Trinity, who will hope to extend a seven-match winning run against the Rhinos, have earned considerable plaudits for the way in which they have played during the campaign so far.
And though Powell believes his side are improving week-on-week, he still feels there is more to come.
“We started a bit slow but I always knew what we had as a team and we are still growing,” admitted the Wakefield boss, who’s side head into the game off the back of a hard-fought 32-12 win over Catalans.
“We are going to get better. This is a good opportunity for us to show how good we are.
“It should be a good game, this is a great marker to see where we are both at.
“Words don’t mean anything, it’s about how we can prove we can be on a rugby field.
“The boys have done a class job so far and we’re going to need a lot of energy.
“We’ve got the right balance of ready to play, emotionally I think we are in a good place.”
