  1. FairFX are really good, always give good rates and you can use their cards just like a debit card. Topping up the card is quick and easy, even in Greece. ? Just got back from Rhodes and the FairFX card was invaluable (or maybe valuable until it was running out of money).

  2. Wine-making is still spreading to new (to UK customers at least) countries. If you get a chance to try Croatian wine, it is worth it. The East of the country, by the coast, has the same geology and climate as Tuscany. But not, so far, the same sort of pricing.

  4. Whyte should have fought Wilder by now as his mandatory but Wilder didn’t want any part of him . Whyte has done everything , jumped through every hoop , and had been frozen out . More than deserves his shot

  6. Then let them get on with it, My pleasure and intention was to spend my hard earned on supporting Gt Britain in Australia in an Ashes series, irrespective of what appeals to others I consider this to be the pinnicle of Rugby League Football, losing the Ashes because of the aligning of the North and Southern hemisphere seasons has been for me the biggest casualty of Summer Rugby, and even though this was originally mooted to be a shortened series without the full midweek programme it still whetted my appitite to go. The first Ashes game I attended was the 3rd test at Swnton in '67 (as a 14yr old) and not missed very many since that have been held on home soil, I was lucky enough to go on the last 'proper' full tour to Aus in '92, and was so looking forward to going again, but as I say with the schedule you advised me about it has drained my enthusiasm.

  8. I think one of the modern day problems as in most sports, is money talks. There are thousands of kids playing RL in Oldham every weekend, the fact of the matter is the bigger clubs can offer money and a proper pro set up with the incentive to play SL rugby, unfortunately Oldham can offer pretty much neither of the mentioned incentives.Im really hoping Oldham can make it to the championship but until the club finds itself a decent investor promotion would only be sealing over the cracks, without ££££ the club cannot even afford or is able to build its own stadium, and so must make do with 'renting' a tiny 'stadium'.. This isn;t meant to be doomsville, but i think we should all remain realistic, the club will tread water in either championship or championship 1 moving forward, unless serious investment is found from somwhere, somehow then its im;possbile to see any return to the top tier for the club or fans. All that said, i'd be so happy if the club is back in the championship next season.

  9. Spot on about eating well on a tight budget. It can be done, but many people don't know how. At some of my tightest times, I'd have potato salad with crispy bacon bits, served in toasted pitta pockets. Cheap, tasty and filling. Bag of salad spuds: £1.50 for a kilo (enough for many meals) Pack of 6 pittas: £0.80 with two used for each serving, so the pack will do for three meals. Bacon: £1.50 for Sainsbury's cheapest own brand (enough for many meals). Mayonnaise: £0.75 (enough for many meals) Optional salad leaves or baby gem lettuce: about a quid per pack. But people really need to be taught basic kitchen skills at school. Nothing fancy; just understanding and carrying out a few elementary techniques that can be applied to lots of different dishes.
