My Mother made a version of what she called Tatie Ash. It was lamb based and I wasn't that keen. Now I would love to try it again. The problem is that the recipes I have come across are more like corned beef g hash. What is your recipe? -

Well done to everyone at the Outlaws. Brilliant work by great people. You should be very proud of everything you have achieved and long may it continue. -
Is it time for some silly season threads

Not Judas Iscariot as he was not a team player. Albert Einstein as he might understand what the hell Phil Clarke is talking about. William Webb Ellis who could explain to his thicko mates " NO after you are tackled you have to play the ball". -
I am still involved with the Hurricanes and Coventry Bears. The Hurricanes are moving into the main stadium for 2024 and the owner is setting the club up to grow. The Bears play out of the XL Centre in Coventry and play on Saturdays, so it is possible to watch both teams. If you need any more info or have any questions please feel free to pm me.

Spot on. The RFL have lost its direction. They have turned to IMG to provide something new. They have tried to shake things up but they are just rearranging the deckchairs. They are stymied by the parochialism of the clubs themselves especially the Superleague. ( but in truth it's all of the clubs). Maurice Lyndsay tried to shake the tree but the conservative reaction ( from all stakeholders) would not buy into it.We will never know if the game would have changed for better or for worse. We do know that in the 25 years since then the amateur game has contrac5ted, crowds have diminished at club level and the game has not expanded within the consciousness of the sporting public. So, the RFL have turned to what is supposed to be a specialist P&R organisation that should make money for both parties. So far I cannot see much sign that that is happening. My fear is that those conservative forces fill drive IMG away and we will be left with a rudderless governing body that is bereft of ideas as the whole ship slowly sinks.

Jason Bass Midlands Hurricanes. Fish course AND something to drink with it. -
Blast from the past. Last night I was watching a TV show and something reminded me of an old whisky. My Dad had a Scots mate who favoured "Stewarts Cream of the Barley" On my 17th Birthday eve ( which happens to be Hogmanay) his son and I got very very drunk on the Cream of the Barley. So drunk that I was put to bed with my Mother shouting at me " your not 18 until next year and you are going to work tomorrow" ( in those days New Years Day was a normal working day in Coventry) My Uncle, her Brother came to my rescue. " He's not, I will look after him" Next morning he duly arrived and took me out first footing around the mining village. Every one agreed that I needed the " Hair of the Dog" and as it was whisky that would be the sovereign remedy to fix me up. Consequently, by tea time I was as drunk as I had been the night before! As it happens the next day was a Saturday. Unfortunately, Saturday mornings were part of my working week so I failed to light again!. I'm sure I would have been in trouble but I must have got away with it. I see that Stewarts Cream of the Barley is no longer available and its a shame as I would like to try it for old time sake. It certainly never put me off having a wee dram. Note. Thinking about the above I was thinking that I have posted this before on here. In fact I posted t a few years ago on this very thread. It's funny how one's memory plays tricks. In the original post I stated it was Teachers that got me going. The more I think about it, it was Stewarts. I also stated it was my 16th birthday. It wasn't, it was my 17th birthday eve. Apologies from a doddery old man.

I would go for which you are more comfortable with. For example if you are used to using an 8 track in your car or a cassette it might help you decide -

It's Trafalgar Day. -
To be fair to the Hurricanes they did try to make amends. For the "home" game in Derby they offered free travel from the Alexander Stadium. In addition they offered free travel to away games for all supporters.

On the plus side.....Now has "tradition" on its side On both the plus AND negative side.....It's in the North. On the negative side..... pretty much everything but ESPECIALLY the playing surface is too small and is downright dangerous.
