  1. Talksport do the live darts radio now.
  2. The uni have a rugby league team - or certainly have had within the past few years. They've also got a fairly decent sporting set up with decent facilities. My £10m will get their attention. It's a 4.5 hour drive from Leeds which anywhere on the south coast is always going to be at a minimum. But it's a very easy drive M1/M25/M23. National Rail tells me that it's even quicker by train: Leeds to Stevenage, Stevenage to Farringdon, Farringdon to Brighton - 3h 58m.
  3. On the official fixture launch on 23rd November it as down as a Thursday kick off.
  4. The game is gone because we keep having close, exciting contests with referees clearly explaining their decisions and seeming to get most of the calls right. I hate it. Also they keep putting the score up on the screen and I don't personally like all the commentary crew.
  5. The match had been finished for ten hours and they used it to promote further coverage of the NRL on Sky. Disappointing to have cancelled Sky so early in the season though. How are you going to get angry about their coverage now if you don't see it?
  6. It seems to be very small - certainly compared to the heyday - but I believe they are running senior men's and women's teams in league competition this year.
  7. I only saw the second half but the officiating was fine. Leigh even got the rarely spotted "obstruction but not via the video ref" call in their favour - twice, I think. So what's he wanging on about?
  8. And that's why they give you the updates. I'd not have been checking some random app to see what was happening in the Saints-Salford game but I switched straight over to it the second Leigh-Leeds finished because of their in-play updates.
  9. Just switched over to see Salford celebrating a knock on like they've just won a title. Love it.
  10. Did we ever establish the game with the highest number of points scored at one end of the field with zero at the other end?
  11. Yes, but then it wouldn't make people angry.
  12. There doesn't need to be - the money is owed regardless of the rights and wrongs of everything else that happened, and good on the RLPA for sticking with it.
  13. £1.2m in unpaid wages. https://www.theguardian.com/sport/2024/mar/08/toronto-wolfpack-legal-action-unpaid-player-wages-rugby-league
  14. Brighton. Existing set-up, decent potential with two universities, fair amount of easy to access sports facilities. Reasonably straightforward to get to from the north.
  15. Cricket was always the smartest when it came to securing funding by ensuring they ran girls and women's teams and coaching sessions. No idea about RU. I think the main funding for women's participation goes through Women in Sport now - Sport England's own direct streams are for other areas. RL, in general, does pretty well from Sport England. It helps that a lot of our areas have high levels of deprivation so community funding there can make a difference and rugby league clubs are well positioned to help that.
  16. As this seems to mostly be a chat about money for playing in women's RL, this announcement looks relevant:
  17. I am very ready to discover that the NRL did not spend its own money in Las Vegas but it did spend the IRL's.
  18. There's been a couple of "ho ho snigger" that it's jokes that Salford eighth in the IMG rankings. But it's not. You might push them down a few places but it's absolutely reflective of the state of the game in this country that a club that is in this state *is* one of the larger clubs in the game.
  19. How many teams is that now who are formally paying players?
  20. Does every Serb entry look and sound like this?
