  1. They should but they won't be able to find a rule that would stick and the RFL do not have the funds for the kind of legal advice that would see them win on appeal. We shall see, though. For now, good news for the Salford club and hope they make a decent fist of the rest of the season.
  2. https://www.salfordreddevils.com/club-statement-2/
  3. When it was announced they made some talk about the players being drawn from Moroccan clubs.
  4. Except, especially in Trinity's case, that is very much not what is being said. He's saying they would have spent money completely differently without the grading framework. Degsy says the challenge posed by IMG was the catalyst - as as showman he'd probably always have done something, but it wouldn't have been that and it needn't have been then. So, we have their words, and their actions.
  5. It's the bit where the owners spell out in multiple interviews that their reasons for going forward in the ways they've gone forward are to align with the IMG framework. It is, on a thread where not everything is clear, actually really clear.
  6. Should also add that I caught Five Live at the start of Saturday afternoon sports programme and then again on Sunday afternoon between Premier League games and they had decent length, and informed and interesting, discussions about the Super League opening weekend.
  7. Was thinking that he normally pops up once London games start up again. Don't know if he posts elsewhere.
  8. Pleased to see it's not just me! There has been almost daily colour pieces with a positive vibe. It's so nice to see. Let's hope it continues.
  9. And yet, here they are playing the National Anthem at a moment of national unity
  10. That said, 30+ years ago, as a resident of Bury looking for a team, I would have leapt at any actually reaching out. So, fair play to the Hornets for being proactive.
  11. Backed up by nothing on any socials that I can see since 2022. And it appears to be impossible to check club records on the RFL site.
  12. Rugby league fans would be counting the empty seats
  13. Indeed, Roy Race, Roy Race!, explained in a Q&A that it was soccer (Football to the Association Rules) to differentiate it from rugger (Football to the Rugby Rules).
  14. Soccer was incredibly common until the mid 80s, maybe a little bit later.
  15. You're coming at this from two completely different perspectives (in my opinion, me not being either of you). You see it that the US could come on in leaps and bounds from an invisible base to a level where to be in a World Cup, they would need to take someone else's rightful place - as opposed to their current level where they are basically not really existing at an international level. Fighting sees is that V'landys's Trump-inspired gauntlet throwdown would be so transformative that, as a sport, rugby league would be, in short order, a major player for athletes and finance in the USA and around the world, and the current structures would fall away to be replaced by something altogether new. In that vision, the USA in a World Cup would be an obvious and automatic step.
  16. I'm sure Wimbledon distorts it, as, indeed, does the British Grand Prix for motorsport. I'm sure it can be picked around the edges but, broadly, it looks right.
  17. Here's a handy little graphic I've just seen on a women's football website which, I think, really does get across how much of a behemoth football is in the UK.
  18. They can get found guilty. Put an appeal in so the punishment doesn’t really happen and then we can all move on because no one ever remembers anything.
  19. Precedent doesn't exist here.
  20. Please like us, please like us, please like us ...
  21. I don't see how they can claim they couldn't bring the correct number of interchange players. Everything else, they could probably find a way of justifying that's just enough to avoid punishment. But the idea they couldn't raise a full day match day squad? No one should be buying that.
  22. All ten episodes were on YouTube when I last looked.
  23. Division 9 is ... Isthmian/ NPL / Southern Division One? So, these guys: EDIT: It is these guys but these are county/combined counties league teams.
  24. £10,000 per game for an international cricketer. Well, an English one. I think the Aussies are paid more.
