I agree with the first point - having the point in the bag is better than having to rely on your opponent dropping a point. However, I've followed City for over 60 years and they have found banana skins where no banana has ever been (Crystal Palace seem to smack us on a regular basis, but I'm not aware of an equivalent for Liverpool). Anyway, I hope we don't come a cropper before the season's end, but my fingers are very tightly crossed.

Two very good, honest replies from DavidM and GeordieSaint. Thank you both.

This one is interesting. Everton could be relegated on the back of two dodgy ref's decisions. There was a penalty appeal turned down at 0-0 against Liverpool and a similarly iffy non-penalty against Man City about a month or two ago. (I'm a City fan and I thought that one was the wrong decision) In the age of VAR, it seems that RL isn't the only sport with *cough!* technical problems.

Surely Chelsea are out of the CL?

You had me going there for a bit, Bearman. Just wait till you get your next fuel bill! Then you'll know what daylight robbery really feels like.

Jealousy is such a good look. And you wear it so well. -
That's because Audi* drivers think they own the bloody roads! *substitute other German cars as you see fit.

That's an interesting point. It is a bit counter intuitive, but might reducing the speed limit actually speed up overall journeys by reducing stoppages? I wonder if anyone has done some genuine research into it.

... and invested seriously in youth development.

That is sad. I met him back in about 1975 when he gave the after-dinner speech at Langwith College on the occasion of the University of York's 10th anniversary. A charming man and an entertaining speaker. RIP, Austin. -

65g! That's almost an armful! -
We don't need to ship it over. It comes by the plane-load. The only problem is that smell of coconut on its skin. Once it's on the grill, though, you barely notice it.

I share your pain, mate. Except the weather. At least here it is a beautiful day ... ... again!

I wonder if Gerald Sinstadt will be doing the commentary?

I don't often post on the football thread, but I shall make an exception now. Many of you know that I am a long time fan of Manchester City (though nowadays I much prefer TGG), and I am heartily sick of all the media speculation about a 'quadruple'. STFU! All any of this does is set us up for a fall. If and when City do win the quadruple, then you can fill your papers and pundit shows with any amount of reporting. Rant over.

Hmmm! You really should have thumped Farage (pronounced Farridge) when you had the chance. His influence on you has been toxic. Edit to add a smiley.

Sad news indeed. I saw Mountain live at Sheffield uni in early (Feb?) 1972. Absolutely brilliant and their live version of Nantucket Sleighride is still one of my favourite tracks ever. -
Merry Christmas everyone. Here's hoping 2021 is a better year than 2020 has been. Take care and stay safe.

May I ask the experts on here a question? The BBC (and others) have reported that United are out of the CL. When I look at the table, it seems that a big win (5-0 or so) for the Turkish team would shift PSG's goal difference enough to put them below United and mean that United go through while PSG are eliminated. What am I missing?

It was. However, i was disappointed that they didn't experiment to see how many trucks they could attach before the lead engine crashed into the last one. I reckon there's room for another twenty.
