It was certainly a weird one but I do think all three parts of it couldn’t be proven either way so they went with the on field decision. They couldn’t tell if the ball had actually gone out or not. They then checked the foul and I didn’t think there was much in it. Finally the looked at the offside and I’m assuming they couldn’t be sure the scorer wasn’t behind the ball at contact. I was surprised they didn’t check for handball as I thought any contact with the attacker that preceded a goal was always ruled handball whether deliberate or not. Pretty sure during the challenge the ball hit Wilsons (I think)arm.

I think the fairest why to deal with the Lees one was just to bin Lees and then a penalty. The other option was to bin Lees plus one from each side for running in. The way the ref dealt with it the punishment didn’t seem to fit the incident.

I remember when Oldham folded and most of there players went to Higginshaw. Was a bit of a nightmare to find Charlie McCalister playing centre for them. Another one with tree trunk legs.

Surely Walters who you’ve just signed from Leeds is going to end up in the front row. He looks top quality to me and would be amazed if he isn’t in the next squad.

England getting away with these errors coming away from there line. When they play the likes of Aus and NZ they won’t be.

I expect a bit of niggle in this game and Tongas discipline to go. With that I think England could run away with it.

Not sure why it’s been changed to just a points competition it made much more sense when the lowest grade B club was replaced by the winner of the championship. Assuming they were also grade B.

I think currently Saints will want too much money and it will make clubs wait until he’s got less time on his contract. The other thing is if you are going to sign for an NRL club those two are pretty much the last you would want to sign for. Not sure who the third club is but I would imagine it’s the Dolphins who maybe worth a punt for him.

I think the thing with Skerret is there were times when he completely lost his head. At that point you just knew someone was going to take an elbow in a tackle or knees on the floor.

I remember going watching Saints at Bradford and Jeff Grayshon (I’m 90% sure it was him) being sent off. At the time the players walked up the stands to get off the pitch a few Saints fans calling him a dirty bar steward as he came off. The next thing he was plowing into them I suppose you could call it doing a Cantona but 10 or so years before him.

Kelvin Skerret I reckon all players who played against him had an eye out for where he was. I’d also add Morley but I don’t think he was as dirty as Skerret but he played close to the line so often got it wrong. Edited to add I remember seeing an interview with Gordon Tallis were he was asked if there was any player he looked out for in the NRL. Firstly he said no then he corrected himself and said Moz adding you should always know were Morley is.

If we did only fans we’d definitely get more search traffic.

The one thing you get with Lees is he does the hard stuff not usually appreciated by fans but always by the players you play with. As he’s often one of the first players putting kick pressure on and also one of the first players there on kick chases. These things arent usually associated with props which is probably another reason it doesn’t get spotted. I suppose you need a pack with balance you couldn’t play 4 Walmaleys or Burgessesas as your props. You need players to fit in with them who aren’t quite as good in yardage but take up the slack on the work rate.

The NRL it’s self isn’t a national RL having clubs from two countries and looking like a third could soon be added. As I said later I wouldn’t expect us to be using that unless there was some sort of take over/link up with the NRL.

They don’t have to do anything but if there was a way to stop anyone else using premier league they would’ve. So as a game we should have a bit of confidence in the brand. Either RL Super League or Betfred Super League are distinctive enough from any other league. There is no magic name out there that will suddenly push us up the national consciousness.

So we did nothing because we lack confidence but the premier league did nothing because they have loads of confidence.

I know with the grand final community clubs can get discounted tickets so when they then sell them at face value the club can make a bit of money. Not sure if this is in place for internationals though.

So why didn’t football and RU stop all other sports from using premier league or Premiership. My guess is they are just generic terms and it isn’t possible to enforce. Now if you started using Barclays premier or Betfred SL then that I’m sure would be something you could take to court.

Going into the last test do we expect the players who haven’t had much of a run out to get some game time. That would be Currie,Dupre,Farrell, Mulhern and Williams don’t think I’ve missed anyone who’s available.

Wilkin seemed surprised he was asked his thoughts on the game then. What did he think he was doing there.
