  1. There you go,you spoil it by quoting facts
  2. You can replace the French clubs with heartland clubs who bring next to no one, at least the extra fans targeted will spend money at the ground and with kids for a pound , they want merchandise and you hope to keep a percentage of the new fans. I remember crusaders when they played Warrington when in SL they brought more fans than everyone bar saints and Wigan. On loop I totally agree it's overkill, when you liked at the season fixtures as a wire I looked for Wigan and saints away they were must see games, now we play them so many times non becomes must see.
  3. Harry I think Warrington have bigger problems than opposition fans, they have struggled to have a strategy to get local fans turning up regularly, they try various things but never stick to anything. Away fans help with atmosphere but clubs need to sell the the games as events that are more than the match. Bradford were the forerunners in that and Leigh are in their own way doing something similar.
  4. It's not just Catalan, Huddersfield is also used.
  5. The only club that really is missed are Bradford because of the size of crowds they can generate, but other than that there are plenty of heartland cubs who are soon forgotten and you are a prime example of a business man who drags a club up to compete, you are doing brilliant but if Derek walks away how strong would Leigh be.
  6. Certainly not Warringtons lowest crowds, the club has always targeted that game with kids offers which take it to the average attendance.
  7. It was in reference to the the chants the referee a ####er
  8. The RU premiership had three fold in short time, I do feel sorry for the fans they are a loyal set, but no matter how well the players try the situation is a mockery. If clubs want to be in the top flight they need to be able to fund the club without going cap in hand every season to numerous parties.
  9. Scrums in Union are not competitive, most end up with a penalty and non against the head. It's just they put more emphasis on the aspect of the scrum. On league scrums I would stop non forwards standing in unless they have changed position and have the ability to push because it would mean forwards using up energy in the scrum thus creates gaps through tiring players
  10. He has loads of potential and over here is playing at a fantastic level but there are several 2nd rows over there who regularly play at the next level, over there he would soon join them but not here.
  11. You are spot on Harry, also we have had a massive drop off of quality forwards, if you look back at 3 burgess boys , James Graham, Peacock, Ellis, Morley,Hill,Walmsley, the new set don't have opposition packs looking over.
  12. It's all subjective, as technology improves it easier to highlight mistakes, the pool is small at the top end but it is crucial you have someone at the top guiding the officials, we clearly have struggled for some time, the VR is the easiest to get right because you have time, but again human nature plays it's part.
  13. I wonder if Trump one of our celebrity fans. MWGA make Warrington (Washington) great again.
  14. Good shout but the title of this thread couldn't be more wrong, in the NRL he has next to no chance unless he joins certain teams.
  15. The two players we need to push are out Walker and Ashton, both are game breakers. Powell is solid but Walker gives us speed and spark.
  16. Or have them laughing, when both players go missing again in big games.
  17. Williams has been awful?, he's carried Warrington when fit, some people don't watch players only when they are in against their team, But luckily Wane doesn't take into account fans opinions, Williams and Smith have produced for Wane and he knows he can rely on them.
  18. Dufty back almost doubles the attacking threat and Harrison back after HIA protocols.
  19. Well deserved, it's good to see heroes who represents the sport and town they played given recognition (updated), as I drive around RL towns we see more of it , from Brian Bevan and Mike Gregory in Warrington and the James Roby way in St Helens they are fabrics of the community.
  20. Never heard that saying, to say that could be taken badly is an understatement, the rest it just like you say opinions.
  21. Yes ones playing behind a top form pack with good backs losing only one game so far and one has been playing in a injury ravaged team whilst recovering from a big operation, reverse the circumstances would the opinion be the same . Lewis has played in big games ,finals etc but had little impact on them.
