French Rugby League Wonderkids
rhinos78 replied to NRLandSL's topic in The General Rugby League Forum
For someone like myself, with no knowledge of the french game, its Great to see a list of talented young french players, be a good point of reference when future french squads, Academy and full, are named A similar thread a few year ago brought a young Justin Sangare to my attention, kept an eye on him with Toulouse and he ended up joining my team. Good work NRLandSL -
No contact in December with games in January

Whats the differrence from a group of 22 players turning up for a Community club training session or 22 mates getting together for a mess around on a field where the rules cant touch them Theres ways around the stupid rule, which makes it all the more stupid and pointless to start with -
A Headingley evening watching The right edge of Kevin Iro and Jim Fallon, tormenting Wigan en route to a rare Leeds victory against one of the best club sides ever

Agreed, Salford 17 looks good to me

Excellent recruitment by Wigan, love what they have done with their forwards, big, young, athletic, non quota lads everywhere.

Like i say, lack of knowledge or willfully ignoring whats been going on. Training at 6 in pre season, training at 6 during the season, playing there for the reserves, all things you have failed to address, maybe you just lack the knowledge, but more likely just selective reading. Because anyone with an open mind can see this is more than just throwing a player into the halfs because they have no one else
-
Gannon at 6 isnt about yesterdays game, its about Smiths fascination with the idea, he's trained there in pre-season, he's trained there during the season, he's played there in the reserves, he's played there in the first team, to play it down as a one off game because of a lack of halfs shows either a lack of knowledge or willfully turning a blind eye to whats been going on. Its an idea smith has wasted time on throughout the season, all yesterday did was emphasize what a poor idea it is.
-
Smiths had a shocker this season, anybody saying otherwise is deluded. His approach to pre-season was a ###### take He's got a phobia of playing players in their strongest position, Morgan Gannon a prime example, confidence looked shot yesterday at the end of Smiths season long obsession of thinking he can play 6, centre, or whatever else, because he did for siddal u12's or something Wants to be the smartest person in the room, trying to reinvent the wheel of how the game should be played, often going against the core principals of successful RL, as the table suggests Now we'r in this constant cycle of the Leeds coach needing time to get ‘their squad‘ and another 'rebuild' that takes years, when coaches at Salford just about yearly and this year Leigh, put squads together on the fly, and have them playing good rugby and finishing above Leeds. He oversee's error ridden bunch who play some of the dumbest rugby you are likely to see and often dont seem ready for a game against teams in and around them at the bottom of the table. Listening to the players they seem to think its acceptable to scrape into the play offs (even failed with that) which all screams a poor attitude which a coach should be on top of. All that said, he was a breath of fresh air last season, and he may turn it around next, i really hope he does, but this season, he's got too much wrong. Its the hope that kills you, this year was the first time in a long time i was going into a season thinking we had the right coach at the helm...Then Pre Season started.

Where does Sculthorpe rank?

Absolutely Brilliant player -
If teams finishing 5th and 6th should not have a chance, then neither should teams finishing 2nd, 3rd or 4th. Odd for the OP to have an issue with 5th and 6th but be happy enough with 4th having a chance If anyone has an issue with any team making the playoffs winning the comp, their real issue should be the playoff concept, in whatever guise, altogether.

Got anything to say about the quality young player your club have just signed? Maybe something about How well your club have done securing him? Or are you happy to continue making a fool of yourself, moaning and whining for no apparent reason?
-
No brainer, knowles starting 13, Radley on the bench with 2 props and a hooker. Would be great to have depth like that.

Wales U16s beat England Lions U16

Lloyd McEwan Peters is in the Leeds Rhinos Scholorship, in his 2nd year, captains the team, also been in Wales RU u18 camps. Quality player from the Guisley Rangers community club -
He's a very good young player, think most KR fans would agree he was excellent for them in there 2 playoff games against Warrington and Catalan. He'd be in our 17 before the likes of Donaldson and Thompson for me, but dont think our management will see it that way.
-
Thats a fair summary, Muizz Mustapha would be the one that springs to mind as a Middle/Prop that could well spend plenty of time with Fev if we DR again.
-
If Leeds and Fev link up again then Centre cover is probably the least of your concern. Our strongest 17 will probably exclude... Jack Broadbent, 20 year old England knights centre Corey Hall, done very well at York last year as a 18 year old Levi Edwards, described as a generational talent, played well for Batley as a 17 year old last season These lads have already played well at championship and superleague level, Leeds will want them playing championship at least next season, not reserves.

McDermotts not big on structure, think he'l be good for a player like chisholm.
