Sorry to hear about your friend I've been a gym goer for 30 years ( 5 times a week) so probably won't stop! I get a lot of it socially too....nice to have a chat there often and the atmosphere is great ...that part of my life is decent but I get what you are saying with the goal Might have a look at some goals!

I appreciate that mate - I doloads already (always done gym, sport and kids sports teams etc) It's not lack of stuff to do or challenge needed ....it's just that realization that I won't have that 'euphoria' of drinking again.....that sounds dramatic but it feels real It feels like everything is better with a drink Someone said something weird when I first stopped like 'if it's not as fun without alcohol then it can't have been that much fun anyway '......I don't agree with that....e.g. I watched the games yesterday and enjoyed them (especially the Saints loss) but it's not 'as' good Don't think there is an answer.....I guess it's a trade off....I feel maybe 25% better for 90% of the week now....but that other 10% (Saturdays and Sunday night) is probably 75% less fun I guess not dying early of liver disease will be more fun than dying of liver disease

Seeing this being built up on SKY Is it just me.or this a pointless idea? 1. A fourth format is the last thing that is needed in cricket. With the debate around the existing 3 formats and what emphasis should be put on each surely this is mad 2. I know all teams are made up but the teams seem stupid and particularly made up with weird combos like Root not playing at the Headingly based team 3. The Vitality Blast is really great....surely expanding that in length and exposure is better. Including some terrestrial coverage Sorry...just ranting as it seems so dumb as an idea ...also £55 for a shirt that is for what a few weeks of fixtures?

Sam Tomkins Comes Out of Retirement
Bedfordshire Bronco replied to Cumbrian Fanatic's topic in The General Rugby League Forum
Not sure this is a good idea He may be cardio fit but the body needs time to acclimate to contact properly .....to do that in Super League seems risky Muscles can strengthen in a few weeks of training....however ligaments, bones and tendons are different....thet will have reduced in size / strength with no contact since retiring .....and they take a lot longer than a few weeks to develop again Hope I'm wrong but I suspect he'll be injured fairly quickly .....unless he just avoids making heavy tackles -
GB to replace England?
Bedfordshire Bronco replied to Gerrumonside ref's topic in The General Rugby League Forum
If Billy had been around now he would be a union superstar or even a footballer ...the circumstances of him going to league don't exist now (unfortunately ) You second point makes sense .....plenty of fans of the game knocking about on the other British countries even if they don't play Personally I like the idea that we tour as GB but play at home and tournament as England (so that the other nations provide the extra teams even if they are heritage) What chance that Luke Keary will get a look in if it's British and Irish Lions? -
GB to replace England?
Bedfordshire Bronco replied to Gerrumonside ref's topic in The General Rugby League Forum
Surely originally GB existed to get the numerous Welsh players involved I have happy memories of GB tours and the odd shirt still....but the Welsh players that do now exist aren't good enough -
Not the Humber but the card game Anyone played this before? How long does it take to learn? How long does a match take?

Should I get Netflix?
Bedfordshire Bronco replied to The Hallucinating Goose's topic in Any Other Business / Any Other Sports
Totally agree on this Something some companies could take not of E.g I would be keen to get a prescription for the Telwgraph to read over holidays periods when I have time The cancellation process involves ringing a number that is rarely answered and is very difficult to do....will never subscrjbe again -
2024 attendance thread
Bedfordshire Bronco replied to N2022's topic in The General Rugby League Forum
That is happening more and more in NRL Maybe they've seen it in SL ! Shaun Lane's documentary of watching sport across Europe is good and it is the one thing he bangs on about at the end that is missing from NRL.....he even references how good it is at basketball games -

Yes Hurst really seems passionate about engaging as many people as he can Think we'd all love to see Bulls get back to half the club/team they were -
