  1. Eccles cake to lead the Southern army to a historic win and you'll all look like chumps soon
  2. I'll try a different way with you Please genuinely answer this question 'When Parcell grabbed Sau's face and potentially tried to eye gouge....what exactly should Sau have done? And I mean specifically in this exact incident. Please detail it for me' I might be wrong but so far you are hinting that your answer is this .... 'Sau should have stayed still and allowed Parcell to complete his face grab/potential eye grab or until the referee or someone else stopped the face grab/potential eye gouge' Is that right? If not then detail specifically what in this exact case should Sau have done with his hands/body/face/legs Alternatively don't answer this question and signal that you really don't have an argument to make
  3. Oh I don't know about that .....I suspect Saints might make a game of it at least in the first half ....though they'll run out of gas and we should win by a comfortable 2 scores by the end
  4. The players seem to respect him ...I like him overall but maybe drop the 'mate' bit for me
  5. You have no problem with him retaliating but you also think he should be punished? Makes no sense ....you either think he should or shouldn't be able to defend a potential eye gouge And yes.....having gone though an eye grab it does give me a better perspective than anyone who hasn't. People can still comment but they are less well informed to do so I've also had someone bend 3 of fingers back deliberately in a ruck.l, broke two of them.....believe me if I'd had a cricket bat I would have hit him with it never mind kick my legs out to stop it If someone goes in like a grub with a head shot or eye gouge then the immediate response of the victim should be considered self defence
  6. I think the potential eye gouging was so serious it meant he had no time to think and just had to protect himself from a potentially life changing injury I've had someone try to do it me in a game in my 20s(bottom of a union ruck) and believe me I would have done anything to stop it....eye sight protection ranks up there alongside head injuries Obviously some one here disagree or have never had someone try to do it to them
  7. Eye damage can be irreversible and life changing If someone is potentially doing it then you need to just protect yourself first and foremost
  8. Yes - the majority are completely unusable and I suspect the vast majority of people avoid them as a result It's a shame because surely if they toned down the pop ups and adverts to a certain level then a LOT more people would use them (and hence they make more money etc and less adverts etc) Anyway the Hull one is not that bad weirdly
  9. Hhis face and eyes were being grabbed.....how on earth would he have known where Purcell's face was during that? I'll say it again..... If you are being assaulted / potentially eye gouged are you supposed to now wait patiently until the assaulter has finished? Just in case you end hurting the assaulter? Madness
  10. "Wriggle out of a tackle"? Fine How about when being assaulted / potentially eye gouged?
  11. I gave up on that a few years ago as it just doesn't work!! I had a winning streak of 11 games and the leaderboard did not show me it recognise it.........the 'hot streak' leaderboard had someone on top with 10 games ( I think I called a Catalan loss that no one else did) Gave up after that
  12. And I disagree with you Tiffers I think he was trying to get up (and get away from being illegally face grabbed and potentially eye gouged)
  13. Come off what? His face was being held to the ground He was trying pivot himself up to get away from the illegal face grabbing / potential eye gouging Again...is it now expected players calmly lie there until the assault is over?
  14. He was being illegally grabbed by the face and potentially eye gouged ....he was trying to get up and play the ball An I to assume that a player on the ground having his face pulled and potentially eye gouged is supposed to calmly wait until this ends before getting up?
  15. Yep I guess criticizing them is different Still .....there is a fine line
  16. Someone grabs you by the face and attempts to turn you on your back by the face You are holding the ball so can't use your hands What should he have done to get on his front to play the ball? ( and also stop being eye gouged?)
  17. Oh it's a doozy ..... But remember not to criticize any officials
  18. Pulled to the ground by his face ....then Parcell attempts to leverage him on his back using his hands on his face Not sure what Sau could or should have done differently ...he didn't play act or make a fuss about his face being grabbed...he was trying to get up and play the ball
  19. Oh.....that's a bit anti-ref that is
  20. So far the match officials in this have been exemplary Keep it up refs and touchies
  21. I've said this a few times but go here for most SL news on recruits and injuries (especially for fantasy SL) https://www.hulldailymail.co.uk/sport/ For a local news site it is also quite quick and relatively lighter on ads (though obvs still pretty bad)
