  1. Might this case, if successful, open a can of worms? Could it make insurance more expensive for current players and clubs?
  2. Not sure why the grumbling about dual reg. Seems like a combination of sour grapes about the result, envy of a club getting something positive out of the arrangement and sadness about needing it in the first place. Apparently Bradford were down to those 17 players that were picked on the night. So nobody left out. The rest had knocks. It looked to me like Scurr played his normal amount of minutes as he's an impact player.
  3. I remember it well. There were a few British victories at home but they were rare. Away from home the British teams were mostly thrashed. A lot of teams treated it as a holiday and were duly pumped. Wigan beat the Bulldogs IIRC which was a good effort. The Bulls nearly beat Penrith at home. Leeds beat Adelaide or was it Perth with Paul Sterling scoring a stunner.
  4. POR is a nice smart ground nowadays. Miles better than Odsal but where isn't? Monday night games aren't exactly a big draw in cold temperatures when it's on TV. Add to that various chips on supporter shoulders and the fact that Bradford have been on a downward spiral until this season and you'll get a disappointing crowd. I actually expect it will be a bigger crowd for the return fixture at Odsal.
  5. The Bulls look a lot fitter than they did last year, apart from Patton. Fev did what they needed to do, it's a log season.
  6. Hudders will win as Wakey will be suffering from tender knees and elbows
  7. Saints by 10. Think Leeds will turn up for this one but they lack the quality to stay with the champions.
  8. Think Fev will have too much for the Bulls this time. Fev by 16 after a close 60mins.
  9. Will Fev be putting the admission prices up again for a game versus Bradford? Might stave off the liquidators
  10. Think 1st and 2nd are between Fev and Toulouse but 3-8 could end up being in any order depending on injuries and how well new signings do.
  11. Toughest possible opener for Keighley who will do alright this season once they get up to speed. Better to get this one out of the way early.
  12. Seems to me that plenty on here are ready to leap at the chance to have a go at Bradford even if the "record crowd" marketing was ill conceived. 4800 is a very good attendance for the championship and even better for a club that finished 9th last year and was beaten by Whitehaven at Odsal. Whitehaven themselves would admit they don't take hundreds of away supporters. Very typical RL to find a negative out of a positive.
  13. I fancy getting along to a game or two over the festive period. Is there somewhere I can find out what games are being played on Boxing Day or around that time. Or can people list games and KO times below? TIA
  14. Branding is important but I hope IMG go much deeper and make substantive change rather than just window dressing.
  15. Highs: Seeing England play well vs PNG and in the first game vs Samoa. Seeing the Aussies in the flesh for the first time in ages. Seeing wheelchair RL for the first time and loving it. Lows: Grappling with the ticket buying website and losing. England losing the semi final despite having umpteen chances to win.
  16. Good for Bradford in winning the capital of culture bid. I hope it helps improve the city. Would suggest that in the current climate that levelling up money may be hard to find. I'd be surprised if the Odsal project is successful which is a shame as the place is no different to how it was 35 years ago.
  17. I imagine Robbie Moore MP in his marginal constituency will be ensuring that Keighley gets plenty of levelling up funds.
