  1. Why would you go to watch a Rugby match with only the last quarter left?
  2. Players do not usually get farmed out for Challenge cup games as they are then match tied and can't play for any other club in later rounds, which would mean St Helens wouldn't have much back up on the wing if there were to be injuries and they were hopeful of reaching the final..
  3. Scrappy arm wrestle , Giants poor decisions or ideas every play from 20 metres out.
  4. Tight game, should be good for the neutral viewers. Giants to edge it home with St Helens recent misfiring form.
  5. 8-0 to Batley at HT Barrows attack is laboured and predictable making Batley's defence look good.
  6. Barrow really need an upset today, 6 games in and Whitehaven's big win away at York is starting to mount the early pressure on the bottom late starter clubs. Batley aren't the team they were last season but it will need Sammut to hit some form and get the Raiders on the front foot.
  7. That's the sort of thing you come to expect with Hakim, most off the cuff mavericks jump out of the line or fail to get back in time etc, often weaving and dancing to the opposite edge of the field leaving holes on that fringe and exposing their wingers, but the entertainment they bring and the special tries and fancy footwork etc is sometimes worth it. I'd have a player like Hakim back at the drop of a hat. But its early days and time for the others to gel in, no need to press the panic button just yet.
  8. Terrible half for the Rhinos, Warrington look far stronger in the middle of the park and are making easy yardage.
  9. 37 degrees forecast for that afternoon, it will sap the legs of most of the players but St Helens will feel it more than the Panthers. I'd say a decent competitive first 40 then a fair margin win for the home team after 80. Hoping I get it wrong though.
  10. I think a lot of people would have expected a bit more from Keighley, 'plenty of time to get a try or 2 yet, if not then a nilling would be a bit of a surprise.
  11. You really are a bitter person, every post with you is about opposition are getting relagated. Can't you just enjoy a game, it's only preseason, why not commend both teams on their first hit out with new squad players and trialist and maybe say hope to see you in the championship soon. Good luck etc?
  12. Bullman is a good signing for the Raiders, as for Archer, if true then its a no brainer too. Just because Saints have let him go does not mean he can't be a future star of the game. Saints are currently the best side on this side of the planet, that's the bar these young lads have to face and most at any SL club will not make first team regulars, but having been in that environment will have instilled a work ethic and professionalism.
  13. Can see Makinson and Ritson being the main wingers as the season goes on, Bennison is OK but is a fullback and not a recognised winger, Ritson was brought in for the speed to replace Grace but no one will play every game with the depth they now have on the edges.
  14. I think th youngster claim was someone comparing him to a 31yr old? But point taken 27 is an experienced age.
  15. 6yrs of his prime ahead would be a good signing with no initial outlay if he turns out as good as the expectations are.
  16. Also didn't he only win 1 game with York and were relegated to L1 some years back?
  17. The first real test for England, if the aren't on their A game it could get ugly but should progress.
  18. He has a big game this week against his home country, great chance to put himself in the window. Most WC players coming ooc will wait before committing I'd imagine.
