  1. John Devereux played in the 1992 World Cup final for GB, not sure if he played on the 1992 tour though
  2. Cas are playing well. Might not have enough to beat Wigan but they look pretty well drilled for round one.
  3. Has he? Admittedly I only watched Canberra after he had signed, but he was not the main organiser in that game. He may well be up to the job but I'm not sure it's a role he has been doing weekly in the NRL.
  4. I agree with this. I appreciate that some is in the heat of the moment but it shows a lack of class imo
  5. No I watch the game knowing the referee would never give a penalty for most of them. Its an easy cop out for the officials
  6. I'm not sure it was just down to new coach syndrome last season. We looked like a team that had been working together on the training field. Plenty of pre planned moves and off loads. This season in the main they look like strangers.
  7. When Smith took over last season he transformed the attack in a short period of time. We looked a threat from anywhere on the field, which has made the start of this season all the more disappointing.
  8. I will be sorry to see him go, even though I would start O'Connor and play Leeming off the bench. It puts a lot of pressure on O'Connor staying fit now. He himself is not very experienced at 9 but if he's out it leaves us with an unproven Corey Johnstone or by the sounds of it Bentley. A difficult place to be in for arguably the most important position on the field.
  9. Fusitua took his chances well and I don't recall him making any errors which in the conditions was a positive. The main difference for Fusitua in the 2nd half last night was that Myler started linking up from the back and made both tries for him. That is Mylers main strength as a fullback and we are a much better attacking team with him in that kind of form. Not sure if it has been mentioned but I thought the 2nd row McDonnell had a good 2nd half too, both with the ball and in defence.
  10. I used to love renting the macron? Videos in the late 80's early 90's. There was always a waiting list for the weekly matches and not only was it a golden era is Aussie greats but it was great to see how the Brits were getting on in our off season. Andy Greg at Illawara, Handley, Edwards and Currier at Balmain. Lydon at Easts?, Schofield and Crooks I think at West's and Kevin Ward at Manly.. Great times. I remember the live matches on itv, didn't Clive Tyldesley do the commentary. I think Tamati was the coach of Salford at the time, and they were playing an attractive style of play. Scrumdown was A good watch on a Sunday night after the pubs had closed. John Helm and David Watkins were presenters I think. Happy days
  11. Disgusting. A cynical foul by a player who knew exactly what he was doing, and doesn't miss a single game. Corrupt
  12. It went up as no try andt the camera angle was not conclusive . If it had gone up as a try it would have been given
  13. Exactly. Also anyone sitting on the disciplinary should not watch any match on sky, Premier etc live so they only see the game for the purpose of the match review . Would be impossible to police but should still be a requirement of sitting on the panel.
  14. The majority of bans appear to be after the disciplinary Committee have reviewed the game and not as a result of a red or even a yellow card. If that is the case it is likely that More bans are a result of a televised game where multiple camera angles are used than a non televised match. I am not sure if the figures back that up, but if that is the case then that is an unfair way of the Committee reaching there decision. Each game should be reviewed the same as the others and if that means 1 camera angle only then so be it.
