  1. Heard a few of your lads are not over enthusiastic about your coach's ways yesterday.
  2. Being a Leigh fan every CCF I have attended has been as a neutral. The journey starts with the CCF being the sports flagship event, my first was at Junior school when we had a coach in the 70's, it was then with Amateur RL clubs who always ran an end of season trip - that trip is now the GF as that is end of season - I then attended the 'on the road' CCF's because I had done Wembley and Cardiff and Edinburgh were new craics - indeed as neutrals we numbered about 6/7 couples who made a weekend of it - I stopped bothering when Franchising came in as I didnt feel any lyalty to the sport anymore - for years we were debenture holders at the new Wembley, I only went once (Wire v Hudds) and farmed the seats out and having moved to August, that was holiday time. Did 3/4 England/GB games at Wembley and a couple at Olympic park, initially a load of lads on a weekend lash up to 6/7 of us on the 6am Warrington to Euston day return So what do I think has effected the CCF as an event - its now number 2 after being thrown into August BH for so long - its not end of season - its bloody expensive to book close to the game - Tottenham has no craic associated with it for the neutral. Marketing starts with the low hanging fruit who will be flooded with the SL GF promotions on sky starting soon - we must either move the final North to encourage the day visitor or make a huge event of it at a partner stadium that can build in the craic to get the low hanging fruit to invest early enough
  3. Ahh so by going in a weekend without any events you get a better deal - well luv me sideways
  4. We should be discussing with Cardiff council a 5 year deal for the CCF a deal that includes hotels and train companies
  5. The planned extension with a second tier and filling the corners in will probably exclude it but the station will be up and running by then
  6. No Sherlock, I would also assume if you wanted it moved for the following year then negotiations would happen
  7. Where is that I fancy a read to see if I know any of our idiots posting that
  8. I know a lot of Leigh fans who arent going due to cost and time of match - ie ticket plus transport plus a few beers and food will be £130 min, those looking to drive have been put off by parking and other costs, hotels are ridiculous all over London and the elephant in the room is the 12am KO which takes the craic away for many. We will have the annual CCF weekend crowd plus about 1500-2000. My 2 suggestions are move it to Cardiff for the next 3 years as London is silly money, and if we are keeping the Championship cup then lets kick off at 1pm and 3.30pm
  9. Give Worky there due they didn't roll over and concede soft try's under the sticks, they competed as best they could but do look a L1 side unless they can grab a few bob from a local well to do. Ferguson just oozes class, wait til the lads match fit.
  10. Somebody needs shooting, Rimmer needs sacking as top dog Code is saying no longer available to me though
  11. 1990-1996 was a golden era for the UK game, Sky saw a fantastic sport on the up at domestic and Intl level and bought it on the cheap. The 1990 ashes series live on BBC1 had huge viewing figures and saw sell outs at OT and Elland rd - with 134k paying to watch the 3 games live. The 92 away series was the tightest for decades with fantastic interest over here in the UK and of course the birth of the barmy army. The 95 world cup was a huge success, Wales were truly competitive due to code switchers at the time - the last truly Welsh team imho. CCF selling out every year virtually year. Great attendances outside SL - where did those fans go after SL? etc etc RL was on the up and conversion to summer should have brought a longer and better deal.
  12. I hope not because clubs fortunes will rise and fall. We should have 3 year licences with reviews based on expansion not replacement, all clubs FT and a min salary spend
  13. Let clubs find their level via 2 x 10's. We currently have Turkeys voting for Christmas when a whole game reality is required based upon generating income to grow not grabbing what you can to survive. We have Leeds, Catalans, Hull, Saints, Wire and Wigan - the rest are no better or worse than Fax, Bradford, Fev Leigh, Widnes and possibly Newcastle/York given 10 years without funding. Stop levelling at the bottom, get rid of the cap and create a structure that the ambitious can rise quickly through
  14. The 12 kick off will have a huge effect on Leigh and Fev sales, the attraction of a CCF is the craic before the game inside and outside Wembley or Cardiff or Murrayfield. Tottenham is a fantastic stadium but that’s where it ends, add in a 12 ko and it’s most of the fun gone
  15. I take it back you really are not breet. 1000 Adult concession plus 200 kids - generating £200k plus vat split equally in prices and 70/30 is £185k plus vat plus the kids, so correct me at about £195k plus vat, £5k out from the fag packet Leighs average league gate so far 2700, the bigger draws of Widnes, Fev, York and Fax all to come at home. The harsh reality is more people paid on the day with the 2100 than in the 3300. AB cup gates income split plus prize money and same with CC. So who else made more in 2020? Fev and Leigh kept players employed due to the hope of playing again in a play off with TO, and whoever else wanted to carry on. Leigh had £500k in cash at the bank going into 2021. What were the financial results in 2017, 2018, 2019 btw Your hatred is blurring what few cells you have, you even assumed I have not run a pro RL club - wrong again.
  16. But it’s by the same door furnitures who’s life probably consists of failure and loneliness. I never see mentioned the many great things he does but doesn’t shout about like the Rob Burrow evening the other week which raised £35k, the support he has just given to the armed forces day, the charity work, the donations to those helping to feed the needy etc etc the list is endless we do like driving investment out of the sport, look at Koukash, often driven by life’s jealous failures
  17. You’re about £100k light on central Funding we do not discount tickets -1000 season tickets at £260 A and £200 C plus kids £200k plus vat shirt sponsorship £150k plus vat ab cup games £40k CC games £40k play off and Gf £50k 13 home games £25k plus vat = £325k will be higher as bigger home games to come Lottery/LISA £80k plus match day sponsorship, plus income from 20 boxes plus corporate dining 80-200 per game circa £200k plus Derek will probably tip in 3-500k this year but the club had been operating at a profit between 2017 and 2020, don’t know about last year 2018 the squad was trimmed and settlements agreed with all players, all paid to law and after a series of injuries and no shows from a couple of players in dispute the squad was impacted by no more recruits for the last 9 games, other clubs had similar problems putting 17 out. No deals longer than this season and some with SL options for next please tell what’s or bust, especially as we didn’t take the covid loans and the owner is making millions pa in his business.
  18. Batley win, absolutely nobody at Leigh interested in another Monday away game - we had sold 80 tickets as of yesterday and not filled a coach
  19. Should we throw out all clubs who averaged less than Leigh in 2017?
  20. Please explain your or bust strategy as I really dont think you are that thick?
