Thread on other Championship teams
Les Tonks Sidestep replied to The Phantom Horseman's topic in Featherstone Rovers
As I've posted on the main forum: Reading the article it looks like €120k of the €300k required has already been committed by the Regional Government Sports Dept (€50k) and the Haute-Garonne Departmental Council (€70k), with a further €110k from Toulouse Metropole to be voted on at the next Council meeting. The article finishes with the paragraph: "We cannot imagine that the TO XIII will file for bankruptcy. There is the professional team but also all the youth teams" explains an elected official from the Metropolis. Before adding, without believing it too much: "Now, we all hope that the TOXIII manages its budget squarely". -

First toad seen in the garden for a couple of years hiding under a bag of wood chippings. Called Mrs S but it had hopped off before she arrived. Also shopping took longer than planned today as the rambling rose in front of where we'd parked was filled with a dozen or so long tailed titmice flitting about its branches so we had to sit and admire them for some time.

It's actually been pts diff all season Position decided by pts, then pts diff, pts%, number of tries, number of goals, number of dgs, toss of coin.

The money was desperately needed back when it was taken out in 2016 and although the interest rate was high (the loan would have been viewed as high risk) it allowed the Club to continue as a going concern. So definitely a benefit, albeit at a cost. I assume the new charge is for the cost of building the houses. Not sure if the plan is to sell or rent them once built?

Someone loaned the Club £200k (against some of the land, at a fantastic interest rate for him) and was then 'appointed' to the Board. One of his remits was to get the proposed reclassification of the land into the next Local Plan, but I'm not sure he's succeeded. Since then he has been paid back and is still listed as an active officer of the Club. We also have a new charge against the car park land with Yorkshire Choice Homes SPV7 Limited taken out in June this year.

I skimmed through the latest Local Plan stuff on the council's website a few weeks ago but couldn't see any mention of the land - it could be in there as I didn't search particularly hard.

Yes, that's essentially why Batley voted against - they'd assumed that a B would simply replace a B if finishing in the P&R positions. It's a bizarre method that (although unlikely) allows that a team could win the SL GF and still be 'relegated'.......
