4 Nations

Australian Rugby League boss Geoff Carr has warned any attempt to boycott the end-of-season Four Nations tournament could not be done legally.

Carr says club agreements and player contracts bind both to representative duties.

Sounds a bit like in 1995 when the Aussies had half a side out for the World Cup due to the SL war.

Maybe England might win if no NRL players get picked! :D

Well not having any Super League players in '95 didn't help England much. Perhaps playing a rep side from the Queensland Cup, etc might even things up a bit more.

Actually it helped quite a bit.

It enabled us to win the opener at Wembley getting the tournament off to an optimistic start and ultimately make the final.

Contrast that with 5 years later when we got soundly beaten in the opener and the tournament roared downhill from there to the low point of the semi final flogging.

Boycott alarms Kiwis hopeful

strike being considered by NRL players of the 4 Nations tournament could impact on Kiwis wanting to represent their country

Kiwis and Warriors fullback Lance Hohaia is alarmed by talk of a Four Nations boycott.

A report out of Australia has revealed NRL players are considering boycotting the tournament because of the delay in setting up the independent commission to run the game.

Hohaia says he has no knowledge of any potential strike. He hopes a strike does not go ahead as he desperately wants to play for the Kiwis
