last I heard there's only 4 teams in the division (including the Romans) and one of those are shaky which is a shame but there seems to be an active campaign to sell the benefits of RL to RU players this season which may attract more. Not my preferred strategy for RL expansion but the east premier did a recruitment drive a few years ago when their division would have otherwise had only 3 teams and all 3 new sides are still going strong in the premier division (unlike one of the three older clubs who were rather nomadic). Plus with Conference League South being well represented in the region there is a legitimate pathway to a full season, so RU players trying out isn't such a bad thing in that context

Apparently there's another new club called Cheltenham Panthers, though I'm unsure if they're just a rebrand and move of Cheltenham Old Patesians
