He also has some funny views on flying horses. He's had a few run-ins with Dawkins on Twitter over said flying horses and other parts of his beliefs. He does seem to be something of a Koran literalist. 

 

Doubt he is the first or last follower of a religion who believes in its teachings.  Many people who laugh at his views will happily follow other religions.

With the best, thats a good bit of PR, though I would say the Bedford team, theres, like, you know, 13 blokes who can get together at the weekend to have a game together, which doesnt point to expansion of the game. Point, yeah go on!

The floodgates will open with this but ... my understanding is that mainstream Islam doesn't really allow for any other kind of Quran interpretation.  That does make it different to Christianity and Judaism where there is *some* leeway on that and it's really only extreme versions of Protestantism that insist that the Word of God is exactly that.
