I am sure that I saw/heard an article/programme/interview last week where one of the RFL representatives referred to it as that.  I'll try and have a look and see if I can find where.  I remember thinking at the time how terrible that was.

Years ago they used to call the Yorkshire Cup "t'owd tin pot".

 

It was a term of endearment, and the hubcap is something we are coming round to liking, something that now comes with medals, and something that this year created a "final atmosphere" at the crucial game.
