Basketball in australia nothing game in 80s now huge following and produce athletes or for that matter a league soccer.

Or soccer in us before there pro league, where any of the above in there countries sports culture ?

There's a huge Aussie obsession with America especially when it comes to American sports therefore it's not surprising that a sport like basketball is popular in Australia.

Soccer is the biggest sport in the world. Even with all of its might, it initially struggled to get off the ground in the USA. Not being dominant in American culture meant soccer had to call upon other means to get a foothold in. Rugby league wouldn't have anywhere close to the amount of resources soccer has to throw behind a new tournament.

So what do you propose? Many here are relying the same old 'show them one game and they'll be hooked' approach meanwhile disregarding the fact that everybody doesn't enjoy the same thing.
