Not vibrant, walkable and wonderfully cheap?

I have seen worse, generally find mainland Europe a lot better than the UK in terms of the look of the cities.

Quite, there’s plenty of ugly towns in the UK. 

I wouldn’t say Łódź is anything like Manchester though - I think it got the comparison as it used to be a textile hub and saw strong population growth
