The Rugby Oldham annual awards have recently been presented jointly by Rugby Oldham and sponsors Jos Parr (Alco) Ltd, of Royton. 
   
Colin Garrett, was on hand to collect the Rugby Oldham Junior Club Challenge Trophy on behalf of the combined U13s,U14s, and U15s of the Waterhead Warriors club who ended the season ahead of both Oldham St. Anne's and Saddleworth Rangers. 
   
Oldham St Anne's  treasurer Stuart Ivell received the senior section Rugby Oldham Amateur Club Challenge Trophy with Saddleworth Rangers claiming the runners-up spot ahead of Waterhead Warriors. The £500 man-of-steel cheque, awarded annualy, was deservedly won by Oldham St. Anne's giant forward John Deakin who ended the season with five man-of- the- match awards just ahead of Matthew Whitehead, also of Oldham St. Anne's, and Saddleworth Rangers' Josh Bradbury who had four nominations apiece. 
   
The man-of-steel award was presented by Jos Parr's managing director Mike Cocker with Rugby Oldham's chairman Mike Kivlin and Rugby Oldham board members Dave Blackburn and Geoff Cooke on hand.

These competitions are unique in rugby league and help generate extra publicity for Oldham amateur football.

In the Man-of-Steel competition Ashley Dixon of Hollinwood (who have completed their fixtures) is the man to catch.
