marklaspalmas
Subs were first introduced in 1963. Has anyone plotted the timeline of the development of the rules on the use of substitutes since then? From being used only for bona fide injuries, then only up to halftime, then at any time, then the two substituted players coming back on, then four subs and the variations of number of interchanges allowed. Thanks in advance https://www.fevarchive.co.uk/
Sir Kevin Sinfield
I don’t know but I think it’s gone too far and we should cut the number of substitutions to 4 and once you have left the field you don’t come back on (with the exception of HIA replacements which shouldn’t count as subs)

No offence intended. "We'll sell you a seat .... but you'll only need the edge of it!"
